Color is Light

Color is light and light is composed of all the colors. Black is color- and light-leeching or absorbing or hording, abyss-like. Variation in color intensity makes a painting interesting to the eye; a dynamic painting is appealing. BUT, I was introduced to the idea that dark places, light-leeching dark places, in artwork is not the same as variations in color intensity and value. My artwork is a reflection of my soul and often has light-leeching places showing me there are still wounds from the past. Without painting and seeing, I easily lie to myself about the state of affairs within. I'm curious to watch my paintings evolve as I walk out more and more of the healing God has already done within. AND IMAGINE, a wholly Lighted person...that person has the opportunity to then be about the business of finding out what particular color (what part of the Body of Christ) they emanate most clearly. Color is light and we know that the Bible also says that God is light. We are coming to understand that each color of light is presenting an attribute of God. Dig into the symbolism of color or the psychological effects of color and you will begin to see this play out.
